See the smoke over the mountains? Looks like clouds but it's not. 5000+ acres now burning.
8:41 PM: Now 16,500 acres burning.
View from our front door of the smoke beyond the mountains from the Ute Park fire east of us. It's about 50 miles from us. Luckily for us, the smoke is heading east, away from us. Although this morning we had lots of smoke here and couldn't see the mountains! I have other pics closer to it, by other people shared on Facebook. This was mentioned on the national news!
It rained a bit today. Yay! Hope there was plenty of rain on the Ute Park fire on the other side of the Sangre de Christo Mountains.
There's Taos Mountain and Wheeler Peak.
The sun shining through the clouds and smoke.
There's so much smoke around us in all directions we can hardly see the mountains and in some cases can't see them at all!
Eeek! Smoke from the fire to the southeast of us. East of Penasco, NM.
Still burning. Smoke from the fire. Sardinas Canyon fire, New Mexico.
The smoke is spreading. And there's the moon too. We can smell the smoke if we go outside. Looking toward Taos, New Mexico.
9 forest fires in New Mexico.
The smoke from the forest fires is so thick we can hardly see the mountains to the east of us! And we can smell the smoke! We have two fires to the east of us and one to the north in Colorado over the border and many more in New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona and many other states in the west.
The smoke from the forest fires is thick! Looking to the west and the north-west of us. The smoke is all around! And we can smell it! THE ENTIRE WESTERN USA NEEDS RAIN!
Forest fires in the western USA. 9 in New Mexico, 10 in Colorado and many in other states. I live in New Mexico, USA. This is from https://inciweb.nwcg.gov
So much smoke from the fires in California and elsewhere we can still hardly see the mountains here in New Mexico. We need rain!
Smoke to the west of us. And they say where there's smoke there's fire.
Sept. 25 - Still fires in the western USA.
We had to close all our windows because of all the smoke from the supposedly control burn fires in New Mexico and elsewhere.
Still smoky but it seems to be blowing away to the south. Hope we don't have bad fires like this in 2019!
